Cam Johnson’s unfiltered veteran savvy is a tool for the Nets’ future
As the Nets pile up tough loss after heartbreaking loss, Cam Johnson is one of the few players on the roster who’s truly experienced winning.
And Johnson — who suddenly finds himself thrust into the role of grizzled veteran grownup — is trying to lend that experience to younger teammates
“It’s not like I’m out there barking at them every day about this, about that. But anytime I can help them, or seen something that I’ve been through that I see they’re going through, I try to help,” said Johnson.
“And (we have) a good group of guys willing to listen, willing to compete. Maybe our record isn’t what we want it to be, but we’re in a lot of these games because we compete at a high level, we play hard. And that’s a starting point.”
