Kristin Cavallari revealed her most recent fling after she said “TikTok f–king detectives” had “pieced together” hints from her December 2024 interview on the “Dumb Blonde” podcast with Bunnie XO.
During Tuesday’s installment of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, Cavallari answered fan questions about her dating life — particularly about the “someone” she said she was seeing at the time.
The “Hills” alum, who is currently single, explained that she and retired NHL forward Nate Thompson had a “deep” connection despite dating for a short time.
“This is why I don’t do other people’s podcasts because I say too f–king much,” Cavallari, 38, said, adding that she was really excited about him. “I don’t even care. I said his name on [my podcast] tour [last month].
“I really think he’s such a great guy… a really amazing guy. He’s an ex-hockey player, he’s been retired for a couple years now. He’s a dad. He is someone who has done a lot of work on himself and we really connected on such a deep level. It was one of my deeper relationships I’ve had especially in such a short amount of time.”
Cavallari, whose episode of her podcast was entitled, “I’m Done with Athletes,” said the pair had a long-distance relationship because he lives in Los Angeles and she resides in Nashville.
“We didn’t hold back anything, We told each other f–king everything,” she said, adding that they’d communicated through voice notes, FaceTime calls and texting. “It was the most honest, pure, amazing, ‘relationship’ I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t consider him a boyfriend… but someone that I’ve dated.
Cavallari explained that there wasn’t a “flame” with Thompson, despite having fun and being attracted to him.
“All the pieces were there, I just didn’t want to be in a relationship… I didn’t necessarily have time… My time that I can give to a man right now is so limited,” she said.
“After Nate, I decided I was done with dating… because I didn’t want any distractions before my tour.”
Cavallari also said she reactivated Raya, a private, membership-based dating app, and that she won’t settle “for anything less than exactly what I want.”
Cavallari was married to retired NFL quarterback Jay Cutler from 2010-20.
They share three kids: sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 9.
