AUGUSTA, Ga. — Tiger Woods won’t be competing at the Masters this week. He’s recovering from surgery on his ruptured Achilles.
Steve Williams won’t be caddying at Augusta this week. He’s home in New Zealand enjoying retirement from full-time caddie life.
Both, though, will be remembered this week at Augusta National — and surely featured on TV broadcasts — because it’s the 20th anniversary of Woods’ iconic chip-in on the 16th green in the final round of the 2005 Masters.
It was the highlight — the exclamation point — of Woods’ fourth of five career Masters victories.
