Downcast Sydney Sweeney reunites with ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino for lunch date after calling off wedding
An un-ex-pected reunion.
Sydney Sweeney and her ex-fiancé, Jonathan Davino, went out to lunch together in Los Angeles on Saturday, less than a week after it was confirmed they called off their wedding.
The “Euphoria” actress, 27, went incognito for the afternoon outing, wearing an oversized blue hoodie, baggy blue jeans and a pair of black sunglasses.
Davino, 41, wore an all-black outfit that included a zip-up jacket, a T-shirt and casual pants.
The businessman walked the former couple’s dog as they headed for the meal in the pictures.
The Post has reached out to Sweeney’s rep for comment.
Sweeney and Davino were first romantically linked in 2018. He popped the question in 2022.
In October, Sweeney told Glamour magazine of the romance, “We’re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.”
But rumors about the couple’s relationship started to swirl in early March when insiders claimed that Sweeney called off her wedding with the producer due to “major issues” in their relationship.
Sweeney and Davino’s split was confirmed by People on March 31. An insider claimed the “White Lotus” actress was “overwhelmed” by her relationship with Davino and their wedding.
“She didn’t feel right about it,” the source said. They added that Sweeney is “in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago,” and that’s “what she wants to focus on right now.”
“She’s not ready to settle down,” the insider further claimed. “They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”
Amidst the breakup news, Sweeney reunited with her “Anyone But You” co-star, Glen Powell, 36, for his sister’s wedding in Texas on March 30. The two previously sparked romance rumors when they promoted their film in late 2023.
On Wednesday, Powell appeared on “Today with Jenna & Friends” and played coy when asked about Sweeney attending his sister’s wedding.
“You know, timing is everything in this world,” he said while laughing. “[Leslie] and Syd are obviously great friends and it was a hell of a wedding.”
In Dec. 2023, Sweeney spoke to Glamour U.K. about keeping her personal life out of the spotlight.
“Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me,” she said.
