Fayetteville, NC (The Fayetteville Observer) – Fayetteville man is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a woman shot early Tuesday on Gillespie Street, police announced Tuesday afternoon.
Shyheem Jamal Tyrique McCall, 24, is accused in the death of Janaha Smith, 27, of Fayetteville, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
The shooting was reported around 3:15 a.m. in the 2800 block of Gillespie Street.
Police said the shooting was not random.
“The decedent and suspect were known to each other before the shooting,” a news release said.
McCall is being held in the Cumberland County jail without bail.
