It was a meat cute that her significant other won’t particularly find all that adorable.
There was a major plot twist in the tale of the viral couple at Wednesday’s Cubs game that dined on a hot dog “Lady and the Tramp” style, which was all captured on the Marquee Sports Network’s broadcast of the game.
The man and woman seen in the viral clip were, in fact, not a couple and the woman has a long-term boyfriend.
That was revealed when the two people alleging to be the fans appeared on 670 The Score in Chicago following the game.
Identifying themselves as Tristen and Robbie, the two were on the “Spiegel & Holmes Show” and told the hosts that they were not a couple and that they had only just met at the game, before later revealing she had a beau at home who wasn’t going to be a fan of the whole thing.
“I actually didn’t know that this is going to go viral, so my boyfriend at home is going to be pretty upset about it,” the woman, identifying herself as Tristen, said.

While the pair — who said they were both lawyers — could be seen simultaneously taking bites of the same hot dog, while getting a little close to each other’s faces, the two said they never met at the middle and eventually switched to popcorn.
They added that they were trying to see if they could shoot the stadium snack into the other’s mouth.

Robbie claimed that the reason for the whole hot dog split was because they each had already several ballpark franks and with one left they didn’t want to see it go to waste.
“We both abhor food waste,” the man said. “ I was like, you know, I’ve already had three hot dogs, she’s already had four. It’d be a shame to waste the fifth one through like you know, we might as well just split it.”
Tristen chimed in that it was “just friendly.”
It’s unclear if the radio show had tracked down the pair or if the two had called into the show to set the record straight.
