Salvation Army Emergency Shelter in Fayetteville, NC File Photo
The Salvation Army has closed until further notice for its Fayetteville Emergency shelter.
The Salvation Army says its Pathway of Hope emergency shelter is immediately shutting down because of a lack of funding.
Major Aaron Goldfarb of the Salvation of the Sandhills Region says the program has no funding partners and the Salvation Army cannot continue to operate the shelter without money.
Goldfarb says this difficult decision weighs heavy on all of those who understand the vital role this shelter plays in our community.
The Salvation Army has secured housing for the families who were staying at the shelter and says it’s working with other partners to help secure shelter for the 26 single men and women who need it.
