RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – One of the largest hospital systems in North Carolina is earning national recognition for its commitment to providing exceptional care to parents and their newborns.
Newsweek named three WakeMed facilities – WakeMed Raleigh Campus, WakeMed Cary Hospital and WakeMed North Hospital – to its list of “America’s Best Maternity Hospitals” for 2025.
This marks the fourth straight year that all three hospitals have received a spot in the annual rankings. WakeMed has also been named a five-ribbon hospital all four of those years.
According to the national ranking based on data from Statista, WakeMed is among the leading maternity care hospitals in the U.S.
“The distinction recognizes WakeMed as a proven leader in providing the highest level of quality care for all birthing people and their babies,” a Wednesday news release from WakeMed stated.
Newsweek highlights 444 hospitals in the field of maternity in the U.S. that have fully met Statista’s standards on evidence-based, nationally standardized metrics. Out of the facilities recognized, the WakeMed health system was among the 182 hospitals to receive a five-ribbon ranking – the highest rating category.
WakeMed delivers more babies than any other health system in Wake County, which amounts to over 9,900 new lives each year, hospital leaders said.
